The Megabat Art Exposition2010 had an extended season from December 2010 until the end of February 2011. The artists, who made bats for the Expo, produced some amazing bats and bat artworks. Photos are now published in my Facebook "Megabat Photos" Album which can be accessed at the following link-

Thanks to St Marys Catholic Primary School art teacher, Vicky Miles who set all her classes, including the youngest at the school, with the task of making a bat. Students had so much fun making their bats and loved them so much that they wanted to take them home rather than lend them for the expo! The bats that did become part of the expo amused and enchanted everyone who viewed the exposition. I hope we can see more of these next time as well as more bats from artists of all ages!
Thanks to Aldridge State High School Art Teacher, Coralie Gunn whose students produced amazing ceramic pieces and a flock of wire frame bats, Hervey Bay State High School Art Teacher, Elaine Johansson whose students produced Bats and a flock of bat silhouettes, and TAFE Art Teacher Leslie Dahl whose students produced Artwork as well as a flock of origami bats.
Thanks also to Dianne Caruthers whose class of young men from the Masie Kaufmann Learning Centre produced their own installation of bats and bat artwork.
Thanks also to my friends and other artists who also produced wonderful bats and artworks for the expo.
Thanks to Stephen Edmondson and Angel Linding, the only artists who were brave enough to pay the entry for a competition that only promised a prize of the entry fees! they had their fees refunded, recieved a Native Plant Voucher from the Community Environment Nursery and Angel sold one of her paintings.
Thanks to Arnie and Lorna Snikeris who are the Gallery Volunteers who hang the exhibitions, who worked very hard with the help of Chris Stanyer with the challange of hanging a novel exhibition in summer heat with a faulty airconditioner!
Thanks to Fraser Coast Regional Council Arts and Cultural Officer, Trevor Spohr for his support, including a megabat for the expo and wearing the Grey Headed Flying-fox suit at the opening night
